Environmentally Conscious: At Ava Sanchez, we expand and challenge our business with respect for the environment. We understand that it is our corporate responsibility to carefully consider our actions and their impact on the environment. We are committed to creating stunning styles in the most thoughtful way and using the best technology to support our green commitment. By using sustainable materials and carbon offsets, we are better able to reduce our footprint on the earth while providing long-lasting, quality products for busy women. We have a responsibility to keep you looking great while minimizing our impact on the environment, and that starts with our manufacturing process:

 

Less Water, Less Waste: Denim production requires a lot of water, which places a huge burden on the environment, especially in California. To address this, we use a state-of-the-art laundry system that reduces and recycles water that is typically wasted in traditional production. We take an environmentally friendly approach by using natural dyes and less hazardous chemicals, combined with the latest technology to reduce water usage, reduce cotton waste and energy consumption to improve on the traditional denim production process. To achieve our unique wash effects, we use a laser system to avoid the use of chemicals and dyes.

 

Sustainable Style: Our product line features Tencel and Modal—sustainably harvested and fully biodegradable fibers. The fibers that make up our denim come from sustainable forests where trees regenerate naturally and do not need to be replanted after being harvested.

 

Carbon Conscious: Most people know that denim has a harmful impact on the planet due to its chemical dyes and high water usage, but did you know that denim also leaves a carbon footprint on the planet? Traditional denim production processes require the use of electricity, which produces carbon. Traditional denim logistics and transportation also use fossil fuels, which produce even more carbon emissions. Carbon emissions are inevitable throughout our production cycle, and we can't proactively reduce all of the carbon emissions we produce. However, we can do our part to offset the carbon emissions we produce, and we have done so with the help of our partner TerraPass through our Forever Black and Forever White collections. For every piece sold from these collections, Level99 donates proceeds to reforestation, gas capture projects, and renewable energy sources like solar and wind—all of which help offset the carbon emissions we produce when producing our denim. Together, we can do our part to minimize our carbon footprint on the planet.

 

More about our carbon offset projects: With the help of TerraPass, a leading global carbon offset expert, Ava Sanchez has funded projects around the world, especially in the United States, to neutralize the carbon emissions generated during the production and use of our products. Level99 and TerraPass worked together to estimate the carbon emissions generated during production, logistics and consumer use, and our commitment began on Earth Day, April 22, 2015. Ava Sanchez will continue to offset the carbon emissions generated by each pair of Forever Black and Forever White jeans sold.
